Throughout our lives, we are faced with difficulties that we struggle to overcome. For some, this is due to external factors such as work, school, stress, trauma and loss. For others, it is internal processes such as self-critical thinking, overwhelming anxiety and panic and self-destructive behaviour. Psychotherapy is a way of understanding yourself, and what contributes to your distress.
Clients have an active part to play in their treatment plan and, as such, will be encouraged to take part in out-of-session tasks to consolidate their learning from therapy.
At Psychotherapy Services, I only offer 'evidence-based' therapies, ensuring that the best chance of recovery and wellbeing. In particular, I provide cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
