“Is what we talk about confidential?”
Absolutely. Confidentiality is of paramount importance in therapy, as your sessions should be a safe place for you to explore your problems, and solutions to them. Furthermore, any written records or other information regarding your therapy work is kept securely, in keeping with data protection legislation.
Please note, however, that therapists have a duty of care for their clients and others, so we are obligated to disclose information to third parties in cases where someone may be at harm.

“How long does therapy take?”
Each person’s therapy will be different depending on the extent of their difficulties. Typically, a course of therapy is between 8 and 12 weekly sessions, but can take longer. I aim to arrange sessions in blocks of four, and review progress to ensure that we feel we are using the sessions effectively.

“How much does therapy cost?”
Therapy sessions typically cost £60 per 50-minute session. There are some factors that may increase the cost of sessions, such as requests for reports, letters, etc.; availability (e.g., out of hours and weekend sessions); and the type of therapy.

“What is a typical session like?”
We will tailor the sessions according to your needs, so the content of sessions is unique to each person. Sessions are typically 50 minutes; early sessions tend to focus on understanding the problems you might be facing, leading to us developing plans for these problems; discussing out-of-session work that can integrate the therapy work into your day-to-day life; and feedback, so that we can consider how best to get the most from your therapy.

“How can I book sessions?”
You can either call (07932 308120), or email daniel@psychotherapy-services.com to start the process of arranging sessions. If you would like to discuss anything prior to booking sessions, we can schedule a no-commitment telephone call to address any questions you may have.
